Chuck Sloan

Born in Montana on January 9, 1977 on Super Bowl Sunday, Chuck was destined to be an athlete.

Chuck's first love was soccer. He played both soccer and basketball at Billings Senior High School in 1995. He was State Champion in Cross Country in 1994 and State Champion in Track in the 1600m in 1995.

Though Chuck was a super-star soccer player, he attended Oklahoma State University on a track and cross country scholarship. There he was 7 Time Big 12 Champion and 5 Time All-American. Chuck was also 9th at the 2000 Olympic Trials in 3000m Steeplechase (you know, jumping over immovable barriers and a water pit) and still holds the OSU Steeplechase school record in 8:26 and is a member of the school record holding Distance Medley Relay team indoors.

Chuck holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from OSU in Geography and now works for an oil and gas company, Dominion, building maps.

His ultimate goal was to make the U.S. Olympic Team in the Steeplechase but due to a foot injury after the 2000 Trials, has been unable to maintain that type of training.  So Chuck has turned to a multi-sport approach where he can work on other disciplines while maintaining top physical condition.

When asked why he does this, Chuck respons, "I have a very good friend, we'll call him Frenchi, who started doing Triathlons and told me I should do it because I might be good plus it would help me lose all the fat I've gained over the past five years. We'll see if he is right. In terms of the Triathlon, I want to see if I have what it takes to be a competitive athlete once again. And to kick Frenchi's little A**."
